Dalian Urban Planning Exhibition Center

The Dalian Urban Planning Exhibition Center is located on the east side of People's Square, covering an area of 6,800 square meters. It features multiple theaters and a large number of LED screens that respectively showcase Dalian’s urban history, culture, landscapes, and future development, providing visitors with vivid visual experiences.

The exhibition area includes a large number of life-sized miniature models. Located on the second floor, the master plan sand table exhibition hall features a sand table model covering an area of 1,080 square meters, one of the largest of its kind in China. The model vividly presents the master plan blueprint of Dalian’s urban core area at a 1:1000 scale to visitors, and is complemented by video narration and digital audiovisual effects to create an incredibly stunning visual impact.

The exhibition area of the Planning Exhibition Center has three floors and houses 15 main exhibition halls.

The first floor is themed “Reviewing the City’s History, Experiencing Dalian’s Cultural Heritage,” showcasing the development process of Dalian’s urban construction.

The second floor is themed “Interpreting Urban Planning, Leading Dalian’s Future,” displaying the latest achievements in Dalian’s urban planning and construction as well as its future development blueprint.

The third floor is themed “Caring for Urban Ecology, Showcasing Dalian’s Wisdom,” highlighting Dalian’s unique ecological characteristics and the development philosophy of “people-oriented, quality-driven city building.”

In addition, the exhibition center is equipped with public display halls, temporary exhibition spaces, a city library café, and a lecture hall, providing spaces for public participation in planning, conferences, forums, academic exchanges, and science education activities.
