The modern architectural complex on Yantai Street is among the oldest, most distinctive in style, and highest in artistic value among the few remaining historical districts in Dalian today. Whether in terms of layout, style, or ornamentation, it demonstrates a high level of architectural artistry and craftsmanship.

This area was developed when Dalian was first established as a port city, covering over 100,000 square meters. Most of the buildings are two-story or partially three-story brick-and-wood European structures, featuring either Russian or German residential styles. Even today, these buildings remain remarkably exquisite, with their roofs and eaves adorned with various patterns, and windows featuring arched tops.

The construction of the modern European-style architectural complex on Yantai Street not only further shaped the early form of Dalian’s modern urban development centered around the port, but also serves as strong evidence of the period when Tsarist Russia occupied Lüshun and Dalian.
