Xiangshui Temple

Introduction Located at the northwest foot of Dahei Mountain, it is a renowned Taoist temple in the Dalian area, also known as Xiangshui Temple or Yunshui Temple. It is said to have been built during the Tang Dynasty and has undergone multiple renovations over the years, especially during the Qing Dynasty. Built against the mountain, Xiangshui Temple features a hip-and-gable or two-story brick structure with flying eaves. The mountain gate is complemented by ochre-red walls, and a steep staircase outside the gate adds to the temple’s majestic and solemn appearance. Xiangshui Temple is divided into a northern and a southern courtyard. Upon entering the mountain gate, you will find the main hall, the Hou Tu Hall. This nearly ten-meter-high, flush-gable-roofed hall with three bays and a projecting roof is constructed with blue bricks and gray tiles, featuring carved beams and painted rafters, exuding grandeur and splendor. The hall enshrines deities such as Hou Tu, Nüwa, and Guanyin. In front of the hall, there is a pond and five trees with trunks as thick as a person’s embrace, offering a cool and shady atmosphere with their green foliage and clear water. Transportation: First take a bus from Beigangqiao Bus Station to Jinzhou. Buses run from 5:20 AM to 6:00 PM, every 5–10 minutes, with a fare of 4 yuan. After arriving in Jinzhou, transfer to a bus bound for Denshahe and get off at Xiangshui Temple. The fare is 2.5 yuan.
