Silver Sail Plaza is located in the center of Dalian Development Zone. True to its name, the plaza features several abstract sculptures shaped like sails. Nestled beneath fountains and billowing as if caught in the wind, they welcome everyone entering the area—whether returning locals or visitors and business travelers passing through.

“Ride the Wind and Waves” and “Sail Far and Wide” were likely the symbolic intentions of the builders, but some locals have nicknamed it “Ring Plaza” due to its resemblance to a silver ring. Names are just symbols after all. Every morning and evening, residents of the new district and workers gather here to relax, exercise, and unwind. The open white sails may lend wings to youthful thoughts, while the surging silver waves bring a touch of coolness to the early summer nights.

In 2001, a row of “international” flags was added behind the plaza, symbolizing the diversity of investors in the development zone.
