Former Site of the Lushun Torpedo Manufacturing Factory

The former site of the Lushun Torpedo Manufacturing Factory is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Liaoning Province.

The former site of the Lushun Torpedo Manufacturing Factory is located at the northern foot of Golden Mountain in Desheng Subdistrict, Dalian.

The factory buildings consist of eastern and western sections, both facing south and built as rectangular single-story structures using gray bricks and stones. The interiors feature wooden framework, with iron sheet roofing, covering a total area of approximately 3,073 square meters. The western section is 43.4 meters long, 19 meters wide, and about 9 meters high, with a floor area of 825 square meters. Inside the middle of the building, there is an east-west trough-style sliding track, 0.55 meters deep, 1.5 meters wide, and with rails 0.8 meters wide. The eastern section is situated about 5 meters northwest of the western section, measuring 32.1 meters long, 16.7 meters wide, and about 9 meters high, with a floor area of 536 square meters. The sliding track inside this section has the same setup and dimensions as the western one. Based on the architectural style and internal facilities, the buildings are preliminarily identified as Qing Dynasty military manufacturing workshops. From 1945 to 1955, they were used as maintenance workshops by the former Soviet Army. These sites hold certain historical value for studying the development of Lushun’s military industry during the Qing Dynasty and the local history of Dalian.
