Historical Sites of the Liberation Struggle in Maquanzi, Fushun

[Attraction Introduction]

After the outbreak of the civil war in July 1946, Maquanzi Township served as a guerrilla base at the time and was the location of the county committee and government of Shenfu County. Here, the Shenfu County Committee and Government led the "Third Backbone Regiment" in successively crushing five large-scale sweeps by enemy forces against our liberated areas, and achieved victory in the liberation struggle of the Shenfu region. Today, it has become an important patriotic education base and red tourism destination in Fushun City. Visitors can pay their respects at the Lujiaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery to honor the great achievements of revolutionary martyrs, visit the site of the former county committee and government to experience the harsh struggle conditions of the time, see the execution site of Commissar Zhai to feel the martyrs’ heroic spirit of facing death unflinchingly, witness reenactments of battles such as the Maquanzi Defensive Battle and the Xichuanling Victory to appreciate the hard-won nature of today’s red political power, and listen to stories of red history in the homes of local people from that era to experience the deep bond between the military and civilians.
