In the southernmost part of Zhejiang Province lies a place called Taishun County, which is administratively under Wenzhou City and borders Fuding City in Fujian Province. You’ve probably heard of Fuding white tea, but Taishun also has a very famous tea called Sanbei Xiang Tea.

Sanbei Xiang Tea is a pan-fired green tea made from local small- and medium-leaf tea varieties. It is known for being “aromatic, mellow, and long-lasting even after multiple infusions.”

The tea is crafted from tender buds and leaves picked from the high mountain tea gardens deep in Taishun, using the highest standard of “one bud and two leaves,” then meticulously processed using the well-developed pan-firing technique of the Jiangsu-Zhejiang region, followed by rolling. Its appearance features tightly twisted, slender shoots with visible fine tips, uniform size, and emerald green color. The inner quality boasts a rich, lasting fragrance of either tender or chestnut aroma, a refreshing and full-bodied taste, bright and vivid green liquor, and tender, vibrant green leaves.

In 2010, the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China approved the implementation of geographical indication registration and protection for “Taishun Sanbei Xiang Tea” as an agricultural product.

Unique components of Taishun Sanbei Xiang Tea: dry tea moisture ≤6.5%, water extract ≥37%, crude fiber content ≤14.5%, total ash ≤6.5%
