The public selection event of the Snow Beer Brave the World “Conquer the Himalayas” challenge for the general public division was held at Gao’er Mountain Park in Fushun City. This competition included 100 participants from the university student division, with the first-place winner advancing directly to the provincial-level five-day finals at Changbai Mountain. There were also 200 participants in the general public division. Registration at the on-site registration desk was extremely enthusiastic, with nearly 100 more people than planned. Those who exceeded the quota did not receive number plates but competed using their names instead. All participantsreceived a cap featuring the Snow Beer logo, a Brave the World commemorative T-shirt, and a Green Field Outdoor bandana. The awards included two champions—one from the general public division and one from the university student division. Their prizes were an outdoor down jacket (with fleece lining), a Brave Warrior certificate, and two cases of Snow Beer Brave the World. The runner-up receivedSnow Beer Brave the Worldtwo cases of beer and a Brave Warrior certificate. The third-place winner received two cases of Snow Beer Brave the World and a Brave Warrior commendation. The Fushun Division of the Snow Beer Brave the World event was led by me along with the judging team, with support from the Fushun Mountaineering Association. I served as the head judge for the Fushun Division. Before 5 a.m., I led the judging team to Gao’er Mountain in Fushun, positioning judges at points where the course had forks. In some areas, caution tape was used to prevent participants from going the wrong way. We also arranged for a motor vehicle with a judge to follow the last participant in case of any emergencies.
