Chengtian Snow Dragon Tea
Chengtian Snow Dragon Tea is a specialty of Taishun County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Resembling Longjing tea in shape, Taishun Snow Dragon Tea is renowned both at home and abroad for its high fragrance, mellow taste, and clear green broth with tender leaves. It has been awarded “Gold Awards” and “International Famous Tea Awards” multiple times at the China International Tea Expo and Agricultural Expos. In 1999, it received the IMO International “Organic Tea Certificate.”
Originally named Silver Sword, Chengtian Snow Dragon Tea is produced in Taishun County, Wenzhou City, and is a famous high-mountain cloud-and-mist tea from Taishun. Its flat, sword-like strips are straight and slender, with a tender green color and white fuzz covering the surface. It boasts a fragrant aroma, rich and fresh flavor, bright apricot-yellow liquor, and tender green leaves with uniform size. The tea leaves are initially unfolded, single, and robust, exuding a strong and lasting fragrance reminiscent of a snow dragon. At the Taishun Famous Teas Tasting Conference held in 1985 at Chengtian Radium Spring in Taishun, experts named it “Chengtian Snow Dragon.” In 1991, it won the “New Star of Famous Teas” trophy at the China Hangzhou International Tea Culture Festival and obtained the Ministry of Agriculture’s “Famous Tea Quality Appraisal Approval Certificate.” It is now officially listed as one of Zhejiang Province’s local famous teas. Chengtian Snow Dragon is a flat-strip pan-fired green tea that resembles Longjing in shape but differs in quality. According to tea experts from three provinces, “Chengtian Snow Dragon” is straight and sword-like, vigorous and spirited; it has a glossy green color, white fuzz, a fragrant aroma, rich and fresh flavor, bright apricot-yellow liquor, and tender green leaves with strong buds.
Chengtian Snow Dragon is harvested around the Spring Equinox and can be produced in all three seasons—spring, summer, and autumn—but the pre-Qingming (before the start of spring) tea is considered the best due to its lasting fragrance and mellow, refreshing taste, making it a top-tier tea. It has been awarded national and provincial-level gold awards and famous tea prizes multiple times. In 2001, the Chengtian Snow Dragon trademark was recognized as a Wenzhou Well-Known Trademark.
