Laoyeling is located at the western foot of Lüshan Mountain, within the territory of Dongdayushubao Town, Yixian County. It is a national nature reserve. Laoyeling features both an upper and a lower temple complex. The upper complex includes the Patrol Hall, the Martial Saint Hall, and the Three Pure Ones Hall. It is situated at the “mountain boundary” between Yixian County and Beining, and since the temple houses a statue of Guan Yu, it is called Laoye Temple (Lord Temple), and the mountain is thus named after the temple.

The surrounding mountains are rugged and densely forested. From the upper complex, one can gaze into the distance at undulating peaks that are refreshing to the eye. The lower complex’s Shengqing Palace is solemn and dignified, housing 37 colorful clay statues of deities including the Medicine Buddha, the God of Wealth, and Guanyin. Beside the temple are a pair of Mandarin Duck Wells that never run dry throughout the year. At the mountaintop, there is a General’s Platform and the Eagle Beak Peak, which are awe-inspiring. The scenic area boasts majestic mountains, perilous rocks, beautiful scenery, dense forests, and uniquely splendid flora, offering a refreshing experience.

Lüshan National Forest Park – Laoyeling Scenic Area is located on the western side of Yiwulu Mountain, within the territory of Yixian County, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. With a touring area of 349 hectares, it is a national nature reserve and a national forest park. Laoyeling features both an upper and a lower temple complex.
