Bauhinia Hill boasts a pristine natural ecological environment, pleasant scenery, and unique natural landscapes, making it an ideal destination for green and eco-tourism.

Bauhinia Hill is located at 121.12°E longitude and 41.07°N latitude. With deep forests and thick tree cover, it is home to dozens of tree species totaling nearly 1.2 million trees, including pine, cypress, black locust, oriental arborvitae, wingnut, Manchurian ash, mountain apricot, peach, apple, plum, mulberry, and various unidentified species, as well as cold-resistant varieties like pines and cypresses. The hill features over 130 types of medicinal herbs, such as anemarrhena, platycodon, sea cucumber, bupleurum, and ganoderma. The forest also hosts wildlife like pheasants, rabbits, badgers, and hedgehogs, along with hundreds of bird and insect species. It offers fragrant flowers in spring, sea views in summer, red leaves in autumn, and the sound of pine waves in winter.

The average annual precipitation in the Bauhinia Hill area is 541.5 mm, and the soil is neutral. There are multiple mountain springs on the hill, which provide a constant supply of clear, colorless, and drinkable water year-round. The rocks are mainly limestone. Due to tectonic uplift and well-developed joints, the terrain has slopes of 25°–30°. Most peaks range from 10 to 270 meters in elevation, suitable for hiking. The main peak of Bauhinia Hill, commonly known as "Baitou Mountain," offers a panoramic view for miles. From its summit, you can see the sea to the south, even spotting boats on the horizon, the full view of Jinzhou to the west, and the undulating, majestic ranges of the Lüshan Mountains to the northeast.

Bauhinia Hill is known for its beautiful scenery, rolling ridges, and lush forests and grasslands. In summer, clouds often shroud the peaks, while in late winter, white mist fills the mountaintops. After the Mid-Autumn Festival each year, as the sun moves southward, it rises between the main and adjacent peaks, forming the shape of the Chinese character “旭” (dawn), hence the name “Bauhinia Dawn.” It is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Jinzhou.
