Bangjita

Bangjita is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The stone pagoda of Bangjita is intact, standing about three stories tall and painted white. Its thick base has eight sides, but only the southern face features a single golden seated Buddha, with clear facial features and graceful posture. In front of this seated Buddha, there are two incense burners of different sizes. Judging from their appearance, the larger one is clearly a modern work, while the inconspicuous smaller one is an item from past dynasties.

The second level of the pagoda is also octagonal, with carvings on each side—some depict Buddhas, others lotus flowers and other patterns. There are also circular carvings about the size of a bronze mirror, though no actual traces of bronze mirrors can be found. Further up, there are three progressively smaller lotus pedestals, each separated by closely spaced eaves. The second level of the pagoda body is adorned with a full circle of small golden Buddhas, which look quite new. At the very top, the small lotus pedestal contains a lotus seedpod, with a beautiful flower center.

In May 2013, Bangjita was announced as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Protected area: within 30 meters outside the pagoda base.

Construction control zone: within 20 meters outside the protected area is the first-class construction control zone; within 30 meters outside the first-class control zone is the second-class construction control zone.
