The Chashan Tourist Scenic Area in Jinzhou City is located in Yujixiang, Linghai City, about 18 kilometers north of the ancient cultural city of Jinzhou, which is known as the "Pearl of the Liaoxi Corridor." At 45.5 degrees north latitude and 76.5 degrees east longitude, it lies 5 kilometers from the Jin-Fu Highway, situated between the renowned Yiwulu Mountain and Cuiyan Mountain. Influenced by the nearby coastal climate, the area enjoys no severe summer heat, short frost periods, long spring and autumn seasons, and a warm, pleasant environment. Films such as "Ode to the Motherland" and "Love of Green Hills" also captured the beautiful scenery of Chashan.

Due to an undersea volcanic eruption hundreds of millions of years ago, the Chashan Scenic Area now features nearly a hundred kinds of vivid and uniquely shaped rocks, such as the Golden Snake Emerging from the Cave, the Roaring Tiger, Three Monkeys Standing Together, the Jade Rabbit Gazing at the Moon, the Panda Lying on the Peak, Two Rabbits Exploring the Ridge, and the Stone Buddha Gazing at the Sea... allowing visitors to appreciate the marvels of nature’s craftsmanship. The main peak of Chashan Temple still preserves well-preserved grottoes carved during the Northern Wei Dynasty, housing several ancient Buddhist statues including the “Tathagata Buddha” and the “Maitreya Buddha,” from which the temple derives its name.

Chashan boasts abundant resources: the hills and mountains are covered with various types of mountain tea, such as Golden Osmanthus Tea, Green Leaf Tea, Yellow Flower Tea, Kidney Heart Tea, and Chrysanthemum Tea. When brewed using traditional local roasting methods, these teas offer a fragrant and rich taste, invigorating the spleen and stomach, nourishing kidneys and benefiting the brain, making them excellent health products for treating various ailments. There are also nearly a hundred kinds of wild medicinal herbs, making the area a medicinal herb base for western Liaoning. The pure natural mineral water here is hailed as the best in Northeast China; twelve mineral water wells have been dug, and long-term consumption of Chashan water is believed to nourish the skin, enhance beauty, and prolong life. The area also produces a variety of apples such as Fuji, Red Delicious, and Jonathan, along with endless orchards of pears, peaches, walnuts, and red dates, truly offering visitors the experience of driving through green shades and feeling as if they are walking through a painting.

In March 1993, the China Writers Association and the China Documentary Literature Research Association established the Management Office of Chashan Tourist Scenic Area in Jinzhou. With an investment of 15 million yuan, they beautified and landscaped Zones 1, 2, and 3 of Chashan, planting 10,000 pine trees, 2,000 various fruit trees, and developing a 6-acre mountain tea garden. They successively restored the "Medicine King Temple," "Virgin Mary Temple," "Guanyin Temple," and "Northern Wei Grottoes," built an 8,000-meter-long wall known as the "Little Great Wall of the Northeast," an 800-meter-long "Chinese Dragon," and towering, steep "Cliff Carvings." On barren rocky hills and steep slopes, they constructed twelve terraced dam-like "Jade Ring Walls," creating a grand and spectacular sight. In sandy wastelands, they excavated Longtan Lake and Release Lake. Sixteen uniquely designed pavilions are scattered across mountaintops and valleys, providing tourists with scenic spots and places to relax and enjoy leisurely chats.
