Nestled on the eastern bank of the Qianshan River at the northern foot of the nationally renowned scenic destination, Qianshan Mountain, and surrounded by Longtou Mountain and Fengwei Mountain. It covers an area of 143,000 square meters with a built-up area of over 30,000 square meters. The world’s largest jade Buddha is located just 8 kilometers west of the resort.

The Qianshan Hot Springs have a long history of discovery, with records indicating they were already well-established during the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty. In the 21st year of the Kangxi reign in the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi visited Qianshan and left behind the note “the murky spring water is suitable for bathing.” Later, during the Manchu Qing and Japanese puppet regimes, the “Qian Treatment Facility” (Qian Liao) was occupied by the Japanese army and used as a convalescent home for officers and generals, until it was reclaimed after the liberation of China. The Qian Liao was founded on December 1, 1949, under the administration of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. It was the first workers' sanatorium established by the Federation for the Chinese working class. It is a comprehensive sanatorium primarily focused on mineral water therapy, supplemented by various physical rehabilitation treatments and health-enhancing factors from forests and high-altitude environments, integrating both medical treatment and wellness. The hot spring water temperature reaches 68°C, and its hydrochemical type is mainly sodium sulfate and sodium bicarbonate-sulfate, making it ideal for medical and fitness purposes.

Located within the Qianshan Scenic Area, the geothermal water reserves of Qianshan Hot Springs account for 50% of the total in Anshan City. The springs are renowned across Northeast China for their high temperature and rich content of trace elements. Currently, the Qianshan Hot Springs Tourism and Holiday Resort spans 28 square kilometers and hosts over 20 hot spring resorts and swimming pools. It features top-tier hot spring rehabilitation centers, a comprehensive cultural and entertainment center, and a tourism product processing center, making it one of the largest hot spring resort areas in Northeast China.
