Dui'anzhi Scenic Area

Dui'anzhi Scenic Area is a suburban destination surrounded by mountains on all sides, featuring a small basin in the center. Covering an area of approximately 15 square kilometers, it is located in Dui'anzhi Village, Dagushan Town, Qianshan District, about 15 kilometers southeast of Anshan City. Situated at the southern foot of the Qianshan Mountain Range and the Thousand-Lotus Mountain, the area is renowned for its elegant peaks, steep rocks, serene valleys, unique pines, and abundant blossoms, offering distinct scenery in each season.

Thousands of years ago, this place was called Hulu Valley, but was later renamed Wofoyu Valley due to the presence of a reclining Buddha. It eventually earned the name Shangduianzhi and Xiaduanzhi, meaning Upper and Lower Pair of Pillars, because of two towering stone pillars standing opposite each other on the northern and southern mountain peaks. The two nearby natural villages were thus named Shangduianzhi and Xiaduanzhi. In 2003, the administrative regions were merged, and the two villages became collectively known as Dui'anzhi Village. The village is also famous for its Nanguo pears, with the original Nanguo pear tree growing right here.

The most spectacular sight in Dui'anzhi Scenic Area is the “Guoding Stone” on the back mountain. Since the village’s establishment, the Guoding Stone has stood atop the mountain. From a distance, one can see five or six large round stones piled together at the summit of the green, forested peak, with three of them supporting a flat, massive rock. The stacked stones resemble a traditional cooking cauldron, hence the name “Guoding Stone” (Cauldron Stone). A 20-minute hike along the rugged mountain path leads to the top. Each of these massive stones stands about two stories high, and the flat top stone can easily accommodate over ten people. There are several gaps beneath the Guoding Stone, which, though steep, allow passage. The area around the Guoding Stone is densely wooded, often frequented by squirrels and magpies. Climbing onto the top stone offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the landscape below.

Built upon the long-standing cultural heritage of Nanguo pears and showcasing lush mountains, beautiful scenery, and exquisite rocks, Dui'anzhi Scenic Area holds immense potential for commercial tourism development. With its unique charm and quaint beauty, it captivates visitors from all directions.
