Yingkou Customs

Yingkou Customs is a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

Yingkou Customs was established in 1864. Originally known as Shanhaiguan and also referred to as Niuzhuang Customs, the current location of Yingkou Customs is at No. 60, East Liahe Street, Zhanqian District, Yingkou City. Built in 1864, it is the earliest customs institution established in Northeast China. Originally called Shanhaiguan and also known as Niuzhuang Customs.

From the very beginning, control of the customs was successively held by foreign powers including Britain, Japan, and Russia. In February 1948, Yingkou was liberated, and the key—the symbol of sovereignty—was truly returned to the people. On October 23, 1952, Yingkou Customs was temporarily closed. On March 5, 1981, to meet the needs of reform and opening-up, Yingkou Customs was reinstated. Its current jurisdiction includes Yingkou City (except Bayuquan District) and Panjin City.
