Around 5 a.m. on November 8, a road collapse occurred in front of JR Hakata Station in Fukuoka, Japan, creating a massive hole roughly estimated to be 30 meters long, 20 meters wide, and about 15 meters deep, with the affected area continuing to spread. Police urgently evacuated nearby residents, and the road collapse also left 170 surrounding households without electricity, while gas pipelines were cut off.

Fukuoka City Transportation Bureau has admitted and apologized for the road collapse caused by the construction of the Subway Nanakuma Line; it not only led to power outages but also disrupted access for residents and commuters around the large crater, especially drawing attention and discussion regarding the 7-Eleven store near the hole. The large pit was urgently repaired day and night by Japanese authorities and was completely filled and restored by November 10. All related pipelines were reconnected within one day, with 148,000 tons of cement poured in to restore water, electricity, and gas supplies. It was announced that traffic would resume on November 14, gradually bringing normalcy back to transportation at JR Hakata Station. The efficiency of the recovery work has drawn widespread praise.
