Yingkou Liaohe Old Street is situated in the western section of Liaohe Avenue, spanning 1.3 kilometers in length, and the entire district occupies an area of more than 200,000 square meters. Following the signing of the Sino-British Treaty of Tianjin in the 11th year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1861 AD), Yingkou became the first open trading port in Northeast China. A total of 11 countries, including Britain, France, the United States, Russia, and Japan, established consulates here, which objectively promoted the economic development of Yingkou. The old street became a place where Chinese and foreigners coexisted, bustling with commerce, and emerged as the most economically prosperous commercial and financial center in the Northeast at the time. It was hailed as the “Little Shanghai of the North,” and for a period, it was as renowned as the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Wall Street in the United States. It has also been praised by experts as an “open-air century-old commercial port museum of northern China.”

Strolling through the old street, one can still feel its former vibrancy. Here, the past revival of the "Guoluo Yin" currency, the prototype of early logistics — the "Da Wu Zi," and the ancestor of banking — the Yongcheng Silver Shop have been recreated. The century-old Tai Shun Xiang Tea House has been restored, while the exquisite craftsmanship of Chen Qun, the fifth-generation inheritor of folk dough figurine art, is also on display. A newly built Folk Museum showcases the over 150-year history of Yingkou’s port opening, and the Yingkou Cultural Celebrity Museum comprehensively presents the unique charm of Yingkou’s people...
