Newly opened women-only capsules in central Tokyo – great value for rest, showers, and overnight stays

To meet the high demand for accommodation in Tokyo, two new women-only capsule hotels have recently opened in the city, located near JR Kanda Station in Chiyoda Ward, featuring 70 capsule sleeping pods.

According to The Japan Times, this seven-story Nine Hours hotel is a well-known Japanese capsule brand that has now expanded into central Tokyo. In the past, Nine Hours often offered separate accommodations for men and women, but this time it’s different. Due to limited space in central Tokyo, the service has narrowed its focus to female guests. This trend has been quickly embraced by the tourism industry, moving away from the previous image of capsule hotels being mainly for middle-aged male overnight stays.

The demand for accommodation in central Tokyo is extremely high, and in recent years, more and more capsule hotels have emerged. Many international travelers even choose to stay in capsule hotels for the experience. For Nine Hours, an overnight stay costs 4,900 yen (approx. NT$1,600), a shower costs 800 yen (approx. NT$260), and a rest session costs 1,000 yen (approx. NT$300).
