Huayan Temple is located in Huayan Temple Village, Bahuai Town, situated among major medium-sized tourist cities such as Liaoyang, Anshan, Benxi, and Shenyang. It neighbors the Steel City of Anshan and stands in distant echo with the famous scenic area of Qianshan Mountain.

Huayan Temple is one of the historically renowned temples. It was first built during the Yuan Dynasty, and at its peak, housed over 300 monks. Historically, its temple complex was magnificent, featuring multiple-tiered Buddhist halls, solemn Buddha statues, murals, and pagoda forests. It served as one of the Buddhist sacred sites in the eastern mountainous region of Liaoyang, influencing an area spanning over a hundred li. Now, thanks to investment and reconstruction by monks, this former Buddhist sacred site has been revitalized and brought back to its former glory.

Bahuai Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Liaoyang County. In 1958, it belonged to Longchang Commune; in 1961, Xiahui Commune was established after division; in 1983, it became a township; in 1995, it was upgraded to Bahuai Town. Located in the southeastern part of the county, it covers an area of 175.5 square kilometers with a population of 17,000. It administers 15 village committees: Shanghua, Xizhuang, Bapan, Kuanchang, Tongming, Bahuai, Zhongbagu, Shangbagu, Dongyu, Xiyu, Xujia, Changgou, Lianhe, Xiahua, and Wengu. Mineral resources include copper, iron sulfide, limestone, fluorite, talc, and silica.
