Siguanyingzi Small Pagoda is located in Xiaotazi Gully Village, Tangzhangzi Village, Siguanyingzi Town, Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province, nestled in a mountain hollow at the foot of Dahei Mountain. This small pagoda is a solid brick structure with a hexagonal base and five tiers of dense eaves, standing approximately 12 meters tall. It served as a burial pagoda for a high-ranking monk during the Liao Dynasty. Nearby, fragments of Liao Dynasty porcelain and the ruins of an ancient Liao Dynasty temple have been discovered. Excavations around the pagoda’s foundation have unearthed artifacts such as pottery beasts from the eaves and remnants of yellow-glazed glazed tiles. In 1984, relevant departments in Liaoning Province allocated special funds for its restoration, which has largely restored the pagoda to its original appearance.
The Site of Anzhangzi City is located in Anzhangzi Village, about eight li southwest of Lingyuan City. Historical research indicates that over 2,000 years ago, during the Qin Dynasty, Pinggang County was established here. According to the Lingyuan County Annals, in the 26th year of the reign of Qin Shi Huang (221 BC), when the Qin unified the six states and divided the country into 36 commanderies, Pinggang County was set up within the territory of what is now Lingyuan City. This marked the first time a county was established in the history of Lingyuan. By the Western Han period, the seat of the Youbeiping Commandery was moved to Pinggang, making this site the administrative center for both the commandery and the county.
