Penghu Special Tourist Shuttle Bus Launched – NT$15 All-You-Can-Ride Pass to Explore Makung City
Backpackers traveling to Penghu are in for a treat. Starting August 1, the Penghu County Transportation and Shipping Department will launch the “Makung City Special Tourist Shuttle Plan.” The shuttle buses will depart punctually at 08:00 and 10:00 every morning from the temporary hub, looping through city attractions before returning to the hub with a round-trip duration of about 60 minutes. Passengers only need to pay NT$15 when boarding to enjoy unlimited rides on the special shuttle bus for the day.

I highly recommend a restaurant in Dongdaemun called Chi?? Jjup, Dongdaegu Pork King (I checked online beforehand and saw that Koreans recommend their single-person set meals). The owner is super nice. During dinner time, when the restaurant was about 70% full, I was able to sit at a four-person table by myself. I ordered a pork BBQ set meal for 6,000 KRW (if you prefer beef, there’s an 8,000 KRW beef BBQ set meal), and the best part is the owner cooks and slices the meat for you right at the table.

It will be held at the Da’an Coastal Park from today until the 30th. A grand opening gala will take place on the 8th, featuring performances by the band Won Fu, Pan Yu-Wen, and last year’s award-winning bands. Sand sculptors will bring an underwater kingdom to life on the shores of Da’an Coastal Park, creating 10 large sand sculptures. The public is welcome to join the joyful, rock-filled music beach party along the coast.

Recently, Leyi Spaghetti, a brand under Canxing Catering Group, has introduced over 10 new dishes. These new dishes closely follow two main themes: “Italian flavor” and “using local ingredients that reflect the current season.” Examples include Golden Squid Roe Spaghetti, which features uniquely Taiwanese squid roe, and Naples Pizza with mango, a summer specialty. The new dishes are expected to be launched in August.
Taoyuan to set up "public bicycle system" with 50 stations to be completed by year-end
Public bicycle systems are becoming increasingly common, and now Taoyuan City is joining the trend. The Taoyuan City Department of Transportation announced that it will establish a public bicycle system in the urban area, tentatively named "WeBike." It is expected to complete the setup of 50 rental stations this year, and the tender has already been opened.

Taiwan Tourist Shuttle “Crown North Coast Line” August 1: Tamsui Station – Guanyin Harbor
The Taiwan Tourist Shuttle “Crown North Coast Line,” promoted by the North Coast & Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration under the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, originally ran from Tamsui MRT Station to Keelung Railway Station. Starting August 1, the route will be adjusted to run from Tamsui MRT Station to Guanyin Harbor. Travelers wishing to take the shuttle can refer to the route map and related timetable below.
