The "Blue Ribbon Ocean Tourism Season" kicks off in 8 days – enjoy rock music on the beach

The Taichung City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau held a press conference on the 30th at the Taichung Port Hotel, where Tourism Bureau Director Chen Sheng-shan announced that the2015 Taichung Blue Ribbon Ocean Tourism Seasonwill take place from August 8 to 30 at the Da’an Coastal Park. A grand opening gala will be held on the 8th, featuring performances by the band Won Fu, Pan Yu-Wen, and last year’s award-winning bands. Sand sculptors will bring an underwater kingdom to life on the shores of Da’an Coastal Park, creating 10 large sand sculptures. The public is welcome to join the joyful, rock-filled music beach party along the coast.

Director Chen stated that unlike last year’s three-day event, this year’s activities will span four consecutive Saturdays and Sundays throughout August, with highlights every week. The event will featurefour major thematic series: “Family Sand Sculpture Experience Week,” “Adventure & Competition Week,” “Beach Olympics Week,” and “Blue Ribbon Rock Music Week.”In addition, there will be kite surfing competitions and performances every week, making the program diverse and exciting.

Furthermore, the event will incorporate local coastal agricultural specialties and street food into food stalls, while also connecting tourism, culture, business districts, and ecological attractions. A “Love on the Blue Ribbon Ocean – Coastal Tour Special Bus” one-day mini-trip will be offered, free of charge, inviting both domestic and international visitors to ride the bus and experience local cuisine, cultural charm, and ecological beauty.
