The 2015 Taimali Golden Needle Flower Festival Opens on August 1st！ Traffic Controls & Flower-Viewing Trains Launched

The annual Taitung Taimali Golden Needle Flower Festival officially kicked off on August 1st. The event has specially arranged flower-viewing shuttle buses to Jinxian Mountain and a cycling competition, allowing the public to once again enjoy the breathtaking sight of Taimali’s vibrant blooms.

This year’s Taitung Taimali Golden Needle Flower Festival features a series of activities. Starting August 3rd, golden needle flower shuttle buses will be available at both the old Taitung County Tourism Service Center and in front of the Taimali Township Office. Visitors can take these shuttles to admire the sea of golden needle flowers. A golden needle mountain cycling climb competition is also scheduled for August 23rd, offering cyclists the chance to race through the floral landscapes. Both options add excitement and anticipation to this year’s festival, while also providing diverse perspectives to appreciate the beauty of the golden needle flowers.

2015 Golden Needle Mountain Flower-Viewing Shuttle Buses
Dates: August 3rd to September 11th
How to Join: Reservations required three working days in advance online. If spots remain unfilled, tickets will be sold on-site on the day of departure.
Pick-up Locations: 1. No. 369, Tiehua Road, Taitung City, Taitung County (Old Taitung County Tourism Service Center), 2. In front of Taimali Township Office
Operating Hours: Mondays to Fridays during the event period, at 09:00 and 14:00
Departures & Capacity: One bus per time slot, with a capacity of 7 passengers per bus. Each trip from Taitung takes approximately 4 hours; each trip from Taimali takes approximately 3.5 hours.
Online reservations accepted three days before departure (reservations must be made via the website, and payment must be made the next day for seat confirmation). On-site registration is available if seats are still open on the day of departure.
Fare: NT$400 for Taitung routes, NT$350 for Taimali routes

Traffic Control:
I. To manage large crowds and ensure road safety on Jinxian Mountain during the flower festival, traffic control measures are being implemented with assistance from the Da-Wu Branch of Taitung County Police Bureau. Controlled sections and timings are as follows:
(1) Class A large buses are prohibited from traveling on all roads.
(2) Traffic control will be in effect from August 1st, 2015 to September 30th, 2015, between 07:30 and 17:00.
II. Within the controlled traffic zones of this event, motorists should follow the directions of traffic control personnel and drive safely.
