Nanhu Wetland Park

Nanhu Wetland Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Nanhu Wetland Park is located south of the Second Ring Road, west of Zhaojun Road, north of the Dahei River, and east of Shaliang Village in Hohhot. It lies in a low-lying area of the city and currently consists of fish ponds, sand pits, and grasslands.

The planned area of Nanhu Wetland Park is 1,165 hectares (17,475 mu), divided into three functional zones: the Grassland Scenery Zone (558 hectares), the Wetland Landscape Zone (425 hectares), and the Riverside Project Zone (182 hectares). The first phase of the project covers an area of 606 hectares.

The landscape planning of the Grassland Scenery Zone centers on the developmental history of the Mongolian people. By showcasing the evolution of their lifestyle and economic development, it offers visitors a glimpse into the unique charm of Inner Mongolia’s grassland culture and local customs. From the folk customs area where Mongolians traditionally lived by the water to the pastoral scenery zone representing their nomadic life, the area provides a comprehensive interpretation of Mongolian cuisine, entertainment, and historical culture, allowing people to experience grassland heritage without leaving the park.
