The former site of the Baotou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The former site of the Baotou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China is located on the north side of Xinzong Middle Road in Donghe District, covering an area of 830 square meters with a construction area of 460 square meters. It features three exhibition halls: "Exhibition of the History of the Communist Party of China in the Baotou Region," "All Previous Party Congresses of Baotou City," and "A Monumental Endeavor—A Documentary Record of the Old City Redevelopment in Donghe District."

On September 19, 1949, Inner Mongolia achieved peaceful liberation, and the Baotou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China was subsequently established, taking full control of the work in Baotou. From December 1949, when the first municipal committee office moved into Baotou, to December 1954, when the Baotou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China relocated to a new site in the west, the committee, within just five years at its former site on Wanzihui Lane in Donghe District, struck with overwhelming force to sound the death knell for backward residual forces. With deeply moving enthusiasm, it also sounded the clarion call for building a youthful China. During these five years, three municipal party representative conferences were held here to discuss and decide on major policies for Baotou City in the early years of the founding of the People’s Republic. The committee led people of all ethnic groups and sectors in Baotou to successfully carry out initiatives such as abolishing the baojia system and establishing new political structures, banning opium and eradicating drug abuse, shutting down reactionary organizations, suppressing bandits and spies, executing counter-revolutionaries, advancing democratic reforms, implementing land reform, and carrying out the "Three-Anti" and "Five-Anti" campaigns. These efforts consolidated the newly established revolutionary government, established a new revolutionary order, and marked the beginning of the construction of the Baotou steel industrial base.

The former site of the Baotou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China is a municipal-level patriotic education base. On major holidays such as Tomb-Sweeping Day, Youth Day, Party Founding Day, and National Day, the Organization Department of the Donghe District Committee, the District Education Bureau, as well as various towns and subdistricts, organize prospective party members, veteran party members, and primary and secondary school students to visit the former committee site to receive patriotic education.
