A Century-Old Temple — Yangdu Temple: Located in the government seat of Honggor Gaole Town, Yangdu Temple is one of the few temples in Xilin Gol League and the only one in Abga Banner that still maintains religious activities. Built in the third year of the Tongzhi reign (1864), it has a history of over 300 years. The Qing court bestowed upon it the name “Shi Shan Temple.” At its peak, it housed up to 813 monks, including 500 resident ones. During the “Cultural Revolution,” it was severely damaged, leaving only the three main halls intact. Later, with government funding, the temple was restored and has since regained its former glory, becoming a tourist destination in our banner that showcases local characteristics and cultural heritage.
