On the 5th, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt announced that they would cut diplomatic ties with the Arab nation of Qatar (Qatar) and refuse all land, sea, and air contact with the country. This has affected numerous flights between the Middle East and Qatar, with airlines such as Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways successively announcing flight suspensions.

The diplomatic rift between Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt with Qatar continues to expand, leading several Middle Eastern airlines to gradually suspend their routes to and from Qatar. Etihad Airways, headquartered in the UAE, and Emirates Airlines, based in Dubai, have both announced the suspension of all flights to and from Doha, the capital of Qatar, starting Monday. Low-cost carriers Flydubai and Air Arabia have also followed suit.

Qatar Airways, headquartered in Doha, earlier announced that from now until 7:59 AM (Taipei Time) on June 6, 2017, it will suspend all flights to Saudi Arabia, including those to Yanbu, Hofuf, Riyadh, Gassim, Medina, Jeddah, Taif, Abha, Tabuk, and Dammam. Passengers who have already purchased tickets are advised to contact Qatar Airways’ general agent, Feida Travel, at 02-2507-7800.
