More flight options to the UK   Cathay Pacific and Flybe expand codeshare agreement

Cathay Pacific announced an expanded codeshare agreement with Flybe, allowing passengers to travel to four cities in the UK via connecting flights operated by Flybe from Amsterdam or Paris on Cathay Pacific services. Flybe is a regional airline group headquartered in Exeter, in the southwest of England.

Under the new agreement, selected Flybe flights between Amsterdam and Birmingham as well as Southampton, and between Paris and Birmingham, Manchester, and Exeter will carry Cathay Pacific’s “CX” flight code. These codeshare flights are now open for booking for travel departing on or after January 12, 2015.

This new arrangement offers passengers traveling to the UK via Hong Kong more destination choices, more convenient and better-connected flight services. Through this agreement, Birmingham—the UK’s second-largest city—will be added to Cathay Pacific’s route network for the first time. In December 2014, Cathay Pacific and Flybe signed a codeshare agreement covering selected domestic Flybe flights between Manchester and seven UK cities (Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Exeter, Inverness, Isle of Man, and Southampton).

Cathay Pacific currently operates 75 weekly flights between Hong Kong and various European cities including London, Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Rome, Milan, and Moscow, and will launch a Zurich route this March.
