The Guanhe Museum is located on the third floor of the Central Plaza on Guanhu Avenue in Zhangmutou Town, Dongguan, covering an area of over 3,000 square meters. Invested by the Guanhe Group with 40 million yuan and prepared over several years, it is the largest private museum in Guangdong Province and the first museum in China primarily dedicated to classical furniture exhibitions. The Guanhe Museum has a rich collection, featuring a total of about 1,500 exhibits, divided into 10 exhibition areas including the Rosewood Section, Large Long Tables and Plaques Section, Early Republican Period Section, Weapons and Musical Instruments Section, and Large Cabinets and Beds Section. The classical furniture exhibition mainly focuses on the Ming and Qing dynasties, spanning 543 years (1368 AD – 1911 AD), a golden age for traditional furniture. Ming Dynasty furniture is tall, majestic, with elegant lines and simple patterns, exuding great dignity. Whether in the use of dots and lines or unique craftsmanship, it holds an important place in the history of world art. Qing Dynasty furniture is intricately carved with abundant patterns, pursuing the opulence of imperial style. The collection also includes official iron nail gates, court attire, wood carvings, stone carvings, various weapons, ancient rural household items, folk crafts, and more. Strolling through the museum is a refined artistic experience. Through these artifacts, one can glimpse the aesthetic values of people from the Ming and Qing periods, as well as the political, economic, and cultural development characteristics of the time, appreciating a splendid chapter of Ming and Qing culture.

The Guanhe Museum plays an active role in promoting cultural exchanges between Zhangmutou Town and the outside world, and in carrying forward the nation’s long-standing cultural heritage.

The exhibition hall is divided into 8 exhibition areas:

1. Precious Furniture Area: Here you can admire the elegant and luxurious Qing Dynasty furniture meticulously crafted from huanghuali and rosewood.

2. Large Long Tables and Plaques Area: Tables and plaques are displayed together to recreate the unique style of ancient halls.

3. Ornamental Items Area: Recreates early 20th-century lifestyle accessories such as dressing tables, desks, tea sets, stools, and chairs.

4. Wood and Stone Brick Carving Area: This section features extremely valuable carvings including Han Dynasty pottery from 1,800 years ago and ancient Warring States roof tiles.

5. Large Beds and Cabinets Area: Includes large wooden beds and cabinets from wealthy households of the past, as well as common people’s furniture such as canopy beds, wardrobes, clothes racks, and washbasin stands.

6. Buddhist Shrine Area: Buddhist shrines and tables are display items used for enshrining deities. They are exquisitely carved with unique designs.

7. Root Carving Area: Nature’s art is reimagined by sculptors, combining seamlessly and masterfully, leaving viewers in awe.

8. Rural Life Items Area: Displays a glimpse of the harsh yet simple life of ordinary people during the farming era.

The museum is well-equipped, with an elegant environment and warm service. Since its opening, the Guanhe Museum has been awarded titles such as “Member Unit of Dongguan Tourism Association,” “Zhangmutou Primary and Secondary School Education Base,” “Advanced Folk Organization in the Province,” “Dongguan Patriotic Education Base,” and “Dongguan Cultural Art Collection and Exhibition Base.” It has also received the “Zhangmutou Cultural Contribution Award.”
