The Dongguan Science and Technology Museum is a base for science education.

The Dongguan Science and Technology Museum stands at the southwest end of Dongguan City's central square. It is a beautiful, unique, and mysterious building that serves as a wonderful stage to showcase the wonders of science and technology and experience the charm of manufacturing; a joyful place to popularize scientific knowledge and enhance technological literacy; and an important platform to gather scientific resources and foster an innovative spirit. The museum covers a construction area of 40,000 square meters, with an exhibition area of 12,000 square meters. It mainly displays two major themes—manufacturing technology and information & high-tech—while also covering three supplementary themes: enlightenment science, online science museum, and film & video world. It is the first thematic science museum in China with Dongguan characteristics and modern significance.

The museum houses over 300 exhibits (sets), 90% of which are interactive and 80% are innovative. The Manufacturing Technology Exhibition Hall mainly showcases: advanced manufacturing technologies, robotics, and the relationship between manufacturing, people, and society. The Information & High-Tech Exhibition Hall primarily features: information technology, life & environment, materials & energy, as well as aerospace & navigation. As you journey through the peaks of information and high-tech, a wave of scientific innovation rolls in—so many impossibilities become possible here, where dreams and reality blend. The Enlightenment Science Exhibition Hall focuses on fundamental sciences such as mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, acoustics, and mathematics. Here you’ll find visible sound waves, an untouchable golden ball, high-voltage discharges, "light-footed" walking, and hair-raising static electricity—it’s a wonderfully fascinating world full of endless fun. The museum also features the first IMAX dome theater in southern China, with a dome inner diameter of 23 meters, offering huge, crystal-clear images paired with top-tier international digital surround sound, delivering a powerful visual and auditory experience. The 4D Dynamic Theater boasts a 150-degree circular metal screen, motion seats with three degrees of freedom (pitch, lift, and roll), and a realistic environmental effects system that immerses you in the action, making for a thrilling and exciting experience. Here lies mysterious science beyond the classroom—everything is truly captivating and unforgettable.
