Lihua Park

Covering an area of 31.5 hectares, Lihua Park is located at Tongling, the intersection of Guanlong Highway and Guanjie Highway, between Dongcheng, Shilong, and Shijie. The southern part of the park connects to Guanlong Road, the west faces Tongling Mountain, atop which stands the Lihua Pagoda built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty, and the north features an Anti-Japanese War Memorial Pavilion. It is a comprehensive ecological garden park that combines leisure with profound cultural significance, recreation with patriotic education.

Lihua Park is home to rich legends and cultural heritage sites such as Huaxi Yintang, Honghua Temple, Immortal’s Bed, Qiniang Pool, and Tonggu Corner. Nearby attractions include Xu Gongyan in Aozhitang, the former residence of Xu Jingtang, Haichao Nunnery, and the Yu Family Scholar’s Archway in Yiwu. It is a captivating destination for visitors.

Xiakou Community: Located in the northeastern part of Dongcheng District, Xiakou Community sits on the eastern bank of the Dongjiang River, beneath the majestic Lihua Pagoda. Covering a total area of 1.67 square kilometers, the community has a registered population of 1,229 and approximately 5,000 new Dongguan residents. It was once the frontline where the Chinese Communist Party led the people of Dongguan in armed resistance against the Japanese invasion of South China, witnessing the famous “Battle of Lihua.” It is also the hometown of General Xiong Fei, a hero who resisted the Yuan Dynasty during the Song Dynasty. The General Xiong Fei Tomb within the community is a historical and cultural site of Dongguan.
