The Yu Family Ancestral Hall in Yuyu is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

The Yu Family Ancestral Hall is located in Yuyu Community, Dongcheng Subdistrict, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It is a clan ancestral hall building originally constructed in the first year of the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty (1488), serving as a site for the Yu family to worship their ancestors and esteemed figures. The structure measures 53 meters in length and 17.4 meters in width, with a total area of approximately 922 square meters. Built with red stone and blue bricks, it consists of four courtyards. The main gate features a horizontal plaque inscribed with “Yu Family Ancestral Hall.” The second courtyard houses a wooden plaque, with “Elegant Legacy” on the front and “Wise Ministers of Two Dynasties” on the back, inscribed by Ruan Shangzhong of Pujiang.

The entire building is well-preserved. There is an inscribed stone tablet titled “Record of the Yu Family Ancestral Hall,” carved in the first year of the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty (1488). It was composed and calligraphed by Chen Jiayan, a Jinshi (imperial examination graduate) and official holding the titles of Zhongxian Dafu (Middle-Rank Grand Master) and Minister of the Ministry of Revenue. This tablet describes the process by which the Yu family migrated from the Song to the Ming dynasties and settled in Dongguan. It provides valuable material for the study of the history of Dongcheng.

Yuyu Community is situated in the northeast of Dongcheng Subdistrict, covering a total area of 1.8 square kilometers. To the north, it borders Guanlong Road and the Liuhua entrance/exit of Line R2, while to the south lies the Hanxi River and the headquarters of the R2 line depot, forming a favorable geographic environment with convenient transportation access.

Yuyu Community has only one natural village and operates under a primary-level economy.
