The Ye Ancestral Hall of Shilong is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Ye Ancestral Hall is located in Xinwei Village, Shilong Town. Constructed in the autumn of the Xīnxī year during the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1861 AD), it has a history of over 140 years and serves as a landmark of the founding of Xinwei Village. Covering an area of more than 400 square meters, the hall is built in the traditional Lingnan architectural style, featuring red stone, blue bricks, and a glazed tile roof. It has three courtyards and two side wings, with an inner meeting hall, and offers a tranquil environment where villagers often gather. Nearby Ye family scholars also rested and studied here while preparing for imperial examinations. Historically, several successful candidates in the imperial examinations (Jǔrén) came from this clan, and three of them erected flagpoles in front of the Ye Ancestral Hall to bring honor to their descendants. In 2001, Xinwei Village restored the hall on its original site, replicating its original appearance. On both sides of the main gate are three stone steles commemorating Jǔrén. Nearby, there is also the Dongmen Archway, rebuilt in the Gēngshēn year of Xianfeng (1860), along with several branch Ye family ancestral halls including “Rúlǜ,” “Gōngcí,” the Second Branch Hall, Bǎo’ān Family School, Zhāoxuān Family School, and Jíyú Family School.

Xinwei Village: Located in the northwest of Shilong Town, Dongguan City, Xinwei Village was established in the mid-Qing Dynasty. The Xīnyǒu year of Xianfeng reign marked the founding of the village. The village currently has a population of over 540 residents, about 154 households, covering an area of 0.57 square kilometers. Due to geographical factors, it is divided into Upper and Lower Xinwei by the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Railway line, but they belong to the same village committee without separate resident groups.
