Dongguan People's Park is situated in the heart of Guancheng District. It was first built in 1913, and in its early days, it only included Yu Mountain and Pot Mountain. A rock resembling a bowl gave the park its original name, Yu Mountain Park. Now spanning 23 hectares, the park boasts comprehensive recreational facilities, picturesque pavilions and towers, verdant and towering trees, as well as over a hundred species of ornamental plants. With red bridges over clear waters, lotus ponds under moonlight, bamboo-lined paths, and the sounds of birds and fragrance of flowers everywhere, People’s Park is a comprehensive urban park integrating ecological leisure, fitness, and patriotic education — making it an ideal destination for relaxation and vacation.

The New Eight Scenic Spots of People’s Park include: Red Cotton at Dawn, Night Reading in the Study Tower, Monument on Yu Ridge, Tea Boiled Amidst Bamboo, Spring Murmuring in Secluded Valley, Evening Stroll through Fragrant Grass, Emerald Willows by the Morning Lake, and Sunrise at the East Gate. Among them, “Tea Boiled Amidst Bamboo” is one of the original Eight Scenic Spots. In recent years, “Spring Murmuring in Secluded Valley” has been newly built on the mountainside between Yuanbao Mountain and Yu Ridge, and the “Tea Boiled Amidst Bamboo” site has been reconstructed.
