Wen Pavilion

Wen Pavilion is a cultural tourism attraction.

Wen Pavilion is located on the northwest side of Wentang Township and was built by the Yuan family in the early Qing Dynasty. The pavilion stands 20 meters tall, has a hexagonal shape, and consists of four levels constructed from blue bricks and lime sand. The first, second, and third levels each feature an engraved name. They are called “Enduring Aspiration Reaching the Sky,” “Illuminating Tower,” and “Attaining Poetry,” respectively, while the fourth is named “Cloud Realm.”

It is said that in ancient times, people of various surnames lived together in Wentang Township, with many bearing the surname Yuan. There were numerous scholars and high-ranking officials among them. To bring honor to their ancestors, promote their family name, and inspire clan members to diligently pursue scholarship and career advancement, this pavilion was built. Locals refer to it as the “Feng Shui Pagoda.”
