A total of 108 scenic spots including pavilions, towers, waterside pavilions, winding corridors, stone bridges, and rockeries embody the elegant and unique style of ancient Lingnan architecture, nestled among lush, verdant trees. Largest Classical Garden

Yuehui Garden features elegant and distinctly Lingnan-style pavilions and towers reflected in the winding streams of the Dongjiang River. Among the lush beauty of the Lingnan garden, there are 56 diverse and captivating landscape forms, including mountain views, towers, winding corridors, islets, bridges, and waterways.

This largest classical Lingnan garden in China — Yuehui Garden — was invested in by more than 100 million RMB by Dongguan farmer entrepreneur Yu Binggui and took over a year to build. It will soon open to domestic and international visitors.

Yuehui Garden is located in Daojiao Town in the downstream network area of the Dongjiang River’s south branch in Dongguan City, adjacent to the Pearl River Estuary, covering a total area of over 730 acres, including water areas...

Dongguan Yuehui Garden, with over 240 acres of water area, forms a unique river-lake landscape together with the rushing waters of the Dongjiang River — where the water flows with the garden, and the garden comes alive with the water. The architectural design of the garden draws on the strengths of various Chinese garden arts, highlighting Lingnan characteristics.

When reporters visited Yuehui Garden for an interview, they saw overlapping green towers and sparkling lakes. The eastern and western scenic areas are centered around a 2,000-meter-long Dongjiang River channel as the axis, flanked by simple and natural clusters of buildings: Tailai Tower, Nanyun Pavilion, Tianxiang Yunwai, Yuehui Tea House, Ziyanyan, and Baifeng Square. The northern and southern scenic areas span the middle of the river, featuring in sequence the East Main Gate, Baifeng Hui Chun, and Fan Building. Among them, the Fan Building is the main structure in the garden, with a total construction area of over 10,000 square meters, 86.5 meters wide from north to south, and 110.8 meters long from east to west, exhibiting a majestic presence.

According to Zhong Zhihua, deputy general manager of the garden, Yuehui Garden aims for excellence in “Lingnan culture,” integrating Lingnan ancient architectural art, garden design, sculpture, opera, and art collection. Among them, the symbolic Nanyun Pavilion is a classical stage specially designed for performances by famous Cantonese opera performers and Cantonese music, covering a construction area of over 3,800 square meters and capable of accommodating 1,000 spectators. The five combined carved artworks in the “Poetry Corridor” use five famous pieces of Cantonese music as their themes, vividly depicting Lingnan scenes such as “Peacock Displaying Its Feathers,” “Love for the Water Town,” “Dragon Boat Race,” “Spring Radiance in Southern Guangdong,” and “Birds Returning to the Nest.” It is revealed that the garden also houses many rare artistic treasures and outstanding Lingnan calligraphy and paintings, which will be displayed to visitors.

★ Baifu Hui Chun (Hundred Bats Gather Spring): This wall is 50 meters long and 9 meters high, symbolizing supremacy (the number nine and five), and is currently the world’s largest brick carving artwork. It is the soul of the “Fu” (blessing) culture of Yuehui Garden.

★ Colorful Songs and Dances: The Nanyun Pavilion of Yuehui Garden is a classic Lingnan-style opera house, where a never-ending splendid song and dance feast is performed daily, featuring a luxurious cast presenting diverse ethnic art.

★ Boat Ride through Painted Scenery: The 2,000-meter-long banyan-shaded waterway originates from the Dongjiang River, winds through the garden, and features bizarre rock-lined shores and weeping willows along the embankments. Yuehui Garden is located in Daojiao Town, Dongguan City, situated on the banks of the Dongjiang River. It is just a 10-minute drive from the Daojiao exit of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, and within a two-hour drive from various economically developed cities in the Pearl River Delta, giving it a unique geographical advantage for tourism development.

Bus Routes:

Bus No. 9 has been launched from Daojiao Bus Station, providing a direct route to Yuehui Garden.

Self-Driving Route:

Exit at the Daojiao exit of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, then follow the signs toward Daluoshaxiang Village in Daojiao (approximately a 10-minute drive).

Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway Daojiao Exit — head toward Hongmei — turn left at the first “T” junction toward Daluoshaxiang — go straight in the direction of Nanyaxiang for 10 minutes — arrive at Yuehui Garden. 3.
