Dongguan Science and Technology Museum is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Dongguan Science and Technology Museum (hereinafter referred to as "Dongguan Science Museum") is located at No. 2 Yuemei Middle Road, Nancheng District, with a construction area of 40,000 m², an exhibition and education area of 23,820 m², and more than 300 sets of exhibits, over 90% of which are interactive. It primarily highlights two major themes—manufacturing technology and information and high-tech—while also covering three supplementary themes: introductory science, online science museum, and film & media. It serves as a national, provincial, and municipal-level science education base, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, and is China’s first thematic science museum with Dongguan characteristics and modern significance, receiving approximately 400,000 domestic and international visitors annually.

The Dongguan Science Museum is committed to science communication and popularization. Since its opening, it has incorporated public environmental education into its science outreach plan, using various methods to promote environmental awareness, technology, and practices. First, it utilizes a permanent environmental education exhibition area to conduct daily display and educational activities. This includes a 500-square-meter comprehensive environmental governance exhibition, a water quality supply system, Fantastic Weather, and Gazing Homeward. These exhibits are updated regularly according to annual plans. Second, it employs science-themed performing arts to educate the public on the environment. The Dongguan Science Museum was the first in China to establish a science theater troupe, which performs regularly on Saturdays and major holidays within the museum, and also accepts invitations from schools and communities to perform voluntarily. Third, it uses high-tech films and animated works for environmental education.

The Dongguan Science Museum features 4D dynamic and dome movies, screening science-themed films on a regular schedule, allowing citizens and students to experience the immersive impact of high-tech cinema while engaging with scientific environmental concepts. Fourth, it frequently organizes thematic environmental education events. Focusing on current environmental issues of public concern, the museum regularly holds diverse environmental activities such as competitions, forums, lectures, and exhibitions. Examples include the Green Campus Action (in collaboration with the British Council) and Innovation Forums.
