The Lotus Mountain Scenic Area in Changan Town stretches over ten kilometers. Its main peak stands at an elevation of 513 meters, with four peaks rising side by side, resembling a half-bloomed lotus. The mountain area is over 90% covered by vegetation, featuring lush forests, murmuring streams, birdsong, floral scents, and spring-like weather all year round. The foothills are adorned with a silvery lake as smooth as satin and grassy slopes woven like fine silk, offering picturesque lake-and-mountain views in a tranquil setting rich in cultural heritage.

The scenic area highlights lotus culture and Buddhist culture, featuring five major landscape zones — Lotus Lake, Lotus Stream, Lotus Holy Temple, Lotus Peak, and Egret Paradise — along with over 40 scenic spots. Among them, “Egret Paradise” is home to Guangdong Province’s largest population of egrets, numbering nearly 10,000. At dusk, thousands of birds take flight simultaneously, creating a spectacular sight.

Adjacent to the scenic area, Lotus Mountain Resort and the Golf Country Club present idyllic scenery with lush green lawns. Their architecture is modern and grand. The golf club boasts a 27-hole international competition-level course. “Clouds part to reveal clear skies, dusk paints the mountains blue, a silver lake nestles in the emerald valley, and the shadow of a tall pagoda shimmers in the mist. Flocks of homeland birds return to the town, where deep nostalgia builds a green island haven, and humans and birds thrive in harmony.” This verse vividly depicts the scene of “Egrets Soaring Over Lotus Peak.” The entire scenic area blends natural ecological landscapes with cultural elements, making it one of the most renowned eco-tourism destinations in the Pearl River Delta.
