Dongguan’s highest peak, Silver Bottle Mouth, is located at the border between Qingxi Town and Huizhou, often referred to as the “Little Jiuzhaigou.” The main peak of Silver Bottle Mouth stands at 898 meters above sea level. It earned its name because, from a distance, it resembles a silver bottle with a pointed peak like a bottle’s mouth. Legend has it that Guanyin Bodhisattva was traveling through the south when she was captivated by the beautiful landscape before her. She unconsciously came to a halt, and while lingering in awe, left her lotus pedestal and sacred vase here—these later turned into what is now known as Lotus Seat Mountain and Silver Bottle Mouth.

During his exile to Huizhou, Su Dongpo, a renowned scholar and literary giant of the Song Dynasty, was enchanted by the landscapes of Lingnan and penned countless verses praising the region’s famous mountains. While in Huizhou, he visited Tangquan’s Baishui Mountain and Luofu Mountain, and climbed Silver Bottle Mountain in the south many times. A well-known poem attributed to him still circulates today: “The waters of Silver Bottle Mountain flow across the land, its beauty intoxicates even Su Dongpo. When Dongpo climbed Silver Bottle Mountain, he marveled that its scenery surpassed even that of Luofu.” This is how Silver Bottle Mouth gained its fame. Silver Bottle Mouth enjoys everlasting spring-like weather year-round, with lush green trees, blooming flowers throughout the seasons, birds singing, butterflies fluttering among blossoms, and bees buzzing from flower to flower—all making visitors linger, feel refreshed, and find endless delight. It is a vast natural forest park with the freshest air and clearest water. At the mountaintop, the bedrock is exposed, rugged and ever-changing. From this vantage point, you can overlook the entirety of Dongguan, making it a prime spot for hiking and sightseeing. The climate varies greatly between the mountaintop and the foothills, allowing you to experience the surprises of different seasons at once. The mountaintop is often shrouded in mist, with clouds and rain shifting unpredictably—like vivid, lifelike paintings. From the foot of the mountain, looking up, you’ll see several peaks linked together, layer upon layer, each towering and undulating continuously. The mountain’s trees and flowers remain green all year round, and streams flow gently into Shigu Reservoir. A silvery ribbon of water nestles between two grand peaks, creating a uniquely beautiful sight. Within Silver Bottle Mouth, crystal-clear springs cascade down from great heights, shooting out from cliffs and precipices. The spring water is cool, sweet, and refreshing—an extraordinary and pure natural mineral water that’s hard to come by. Here, every mountain and every body of water is naturally formed, tangible and immersive, with no sense of separation. Xiegang Town: Located at the easternmost tip of Dongguan, Xiegang Town is the city’s “eastern gateway.” It borders Huizhou, neighbors Shenzhen, and connects with four nearby towns: Qingxi, Zhangmutou, Changping, and Qiaotou.
