Mashan Fairyland

Mashan Fairyland, located within Dalingshan Town, features a mountain shape resembling a sitting ape with its hands hugging its knees and facing Mount Luofu—truly a “feng shui treasure land.” The area boasts ancient trees, slender bamboo, clear springs, bubbling streams, winding stone steps, pavilions, and stone tablets, all creating a fairy-tale-like atmosphere. The Mashan Temple is nestled faintly amid the green foliage halfway up the mountain, offering a serene and profound ambiance.

Legend has it that during the Song Dynasty, the Taoist priest Cui Yu, known as the Purple Mist Taoist, traveled to Mount Luofu and stopped here to preach. This gave rise to many beautiful legends, including that of the “Purple Mist Spring.” The mountain features numerous scenic spots such as the Dragon Bed, Ancient Flow of Dragon Rock, Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate, Golden Ox Grinding Grain, Hugging-the-Lover Tree, Purple Mist Spring, and Listening-to-the-Spring Cave. With picturesque scenery, towering ancient trees, murmuring streams, and crisp birdsong, the mountain’s banyans are truly breathtaking in their sheer number and age. The area also produces fruits such as starfruit, olives, longan, and candlenuts. Additionally, wildflowers abound, including chrysanthemums, spring blossoms, water plantain flowers, mountain dewberries, and golden fruit blossoms—truly a place where leaves stay green all year round and flowers bloom with fragrance throughout the seasons. To the east of the mountain lies “Yangzai Pit,” and to the west is “Mountain Boar Shed Mountain.” When night falls, flickering lights can be seen, but they vanish as soon as one enters the mountains. Hence, an old saying describes this phenomenon as “Lights on the Eastern Mountain, Shine on the Western Mountain,” a truly unique spectacle.

Dalingshan Town: Located in the central-southern part of Dongguan City, Dalingshan Town covers an area of 95 square kilometers and governs 23 village committees (communities), with a total population of over 400,000, including approximately 40,000 registered residents.

Situated in the economically vibrant heartland of the Pearl River Delta, Dalingshan is located at the center of Dongguan’s “trinity” metropolitan area, adjacent to Hong Kong and Macau, enjoying a prime geographical location. The new National Highway 107, Shida Road, Houda Road, and Lianma Road run through the entire town; the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zhuhai Expressway, Dongguan-Shenzhen Expressway, Changhu Expressway, and Longda Expressway all have exits within or near the town.
