Covering a total area of 20,000 square meters, Shuiliangshan Butterfly Valley is China’s largest butterfly ecological park, built with technology as the foundation and market innovation as the guiding principle. It integrates knowledge, fun, entertainment, and hands-on participation, and has also introduced hundreds of green peafowls to create a magnificent scene of “green peafowls spreading their wings, their colorful plumage gleaming in the morning light,” meeting people’s desires for novelty, knowledge, and joy to the greatest extent. It allows urban dwellers to step into nature, get close to it, and let their dreams take flight under the sun.

The butterfly garden features over 50 species of live butterflies, totaling nearly one million individuals, which can be observed year-round. The park guarantees a daily population of 3,000–5,000 butterflies for public enjoyment throughout all seasons. These include: China’s largest swallowtail butterfly—the golden birdwing; the butterfly of the Butterfly Lovers legend—the common mormon; the world’s most famous mimic butterfly—the dead leaf butterfly; and the world’s largest brush-footed butterfly—the great eggfly.

In the Insect Fun Garden, see the world’s largest spider—the bird-eating tarantula, the world’s largest scorpion—the rainforest emperor scorpion, the star of amphibians and reptiles—the green iguana, and more.

In the Bird Paradise, enjoy the presence of the beautiful and charming red-billed leiothrix, the adorable cockatiel, and the colorful Lady Amherst’s pheasant—regulars in the Bird Paradise. There are also many unnamed little birds waiting for you to join in the fun.

Additionally, you can get up close to admire the adorable and gentle golden tree squirrels and the bushy-tailed golden snub-nosed squirrels.
