Huangqi Mountain Urban Park

Huangqi Mountain Urban Park covers a planned area of approximately 16 square kilometers, including the Qifeng Park scenic area, Huying Country Park scenic area, the extreme sports zone of Huangqi Mountain Sports Park, and the landscape area on the southern side of the park.

The Qifeng scenic area features “Lantern Hanging at the Top of Huangqi Ridge,” which was ranked first among the eight scenic wonders of Dongguan during the late Qing and early Republican periods, as well as famous sites such as the ancient Guanyin Temple of Huangqi, the Huangling Taoist Temple, and the Liánquán Spring. A network of stone steps for hiking covers the entire mountain range; the Huying scenic area includes numerous attractions such as the Huying Pavilion, the Cloud and Rain Bridge, the Vitality Square, the Roman Colonnade, Lovers’ Island, and the Children’s Playground. The park’s approximately 8.4-kilometer-long leisure loop trail connects the Qifeng and Huying scenic areas, making it a popular spot for citizens to cycle, stroll, hike, enjoy spring outings, and pray. It serves as a natural oxygen bar for both locals and tourists to relax and stay fit.

Huying Scenic Area:

1. Huying Lake: The lake covers an area of 290 mu, and the lakeside road is lined with towering banyan trees. Whether in the early morning or at dusk, sitting on the stone benches by the lake offers a panoramic view like a traditional Chinese ink painting.

Qifeng Scenic Area:

1. Ancient Guanyin Temple: Also known as the Huangqi Guanyin Temple, it was originally built during the Song Dynasty and renovated in 1994. The temple enjoys a constant stream of incense offerings throughout the year. Especially during New Year's Eve as people bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, the ancient temple attracts tens of thousands of citizens who come to offer the “first incense” of the year, praying for blessings and the arrival of the new year.

2. Lantern at the Mountain Top: The foremost of the old eight scenic wonders of Dongguan. The lantern at the mountain top was created in 1993 and redesigned and rebuilt in 2004. At night, the lantern shines with a brilliant red glow, visible for miles around. It is now a symbolic landmark of Dongguan.
