Qingxi Forest Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Qingxi Forest Park is located in Qingxi Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province — known as China’s most beautiful town. It belongs to the Yinping Mountain range and is a great place for hiking, enjoying spring scenery, leisure, and outdoor activities.

The Yinping Mountain Forest Park (Qingxi section), under the administration of the Dongguan Forestry Bureau, is a forest park dedicated to ecological construction and tourism development through forest protection and sustainable use. With strong support from the Dongguan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the park has been effectively protected and developed. The first phase, with an investment of 60 million yuan, was completed and opened to the public in April 2010. The park now features 14.3 kilometers of roads, 5.9 kilometers of walking trails, 31,000 square meters of parking lots (with 850 parking spaces), 60 rest platforms, 5 observation pavilions, and 5 restrooms.

Currently, the second phase of development, with an investment of 43 million yuan, is underway. Thanks to these efforts, the quality of park attractions continues to improve, visitor safety and forest fire prevention management are well-implemented and effective, and the park enjoys high recognition and positive reputation among Dongguan residents, receiving approximately 750,000 visitors annually. The second phase with a 43 million yuan investment is currently in progress.

The park features a subtropical monsoon climate, with annual rainfall between 1,500–2,400 mm, concentrated between April and September, and an average annual temperature of 22.1°C. It boasts rich flora and fauna, truly a “kingdom of plants and paradise of birds.” In addition to unique plant communities such as Amentotaxus argotaenia, Cephalotaxus fortunei, Pinus kwangtungensis, short-sepaled bladder orchid, and birdlime flower, the park is also home to various protected wildlife including pangolins, vine snakes, owls, and wild boars. To date, over 1,500 plant species and 105 bird species have been identified. Highlights include Dongguan’s most spectacular waterfall, known for its majestic beauty and ever-changing forms; the Yangqiao Scenic Area with vines hanging from cliffs and shaded paths; the Ziyanguan (Purple Smoke Pavilion) area with rugged rocks and diverse shapes; and the remarkable Baoshi (Exploding Stone) wonder.

The short-sepaled bladder orchid community in Qingxi Forest Park was discovered and identified in 2007 as the largest of its kind in Guangdong Province. From April to May each year, these vibrant purple-red flowers bloom brilliantly across the mountainsides — trees full of color, ground covered with fallen petals, eyes filled with splendor, hearts intoxicated. Truly, when mountain blossoms meet the fresh breeze, they surpass all worldly wonders.

The Huangmaotian Waterfall consists of two cascading levels. The first level has a drop of about 6 meters, leading to a deep pool approximately 3 meters deep. The water is crystal clear and appears jade-green under the shade of surrounding greenery. Beside the Huangmaotian Waterfall, a rock fault has formed a steep cliff face around 60 meters high and 50 meters wide. The cliff is nearly vertical, with a flat, knife-cut-like surface. Looking up at it is both awe-inspiring and thrilling.

Qingxi Forest Park features competing peaks and evergreen forests, serving as a comprehensive tourist destination integrating travel, leisure, and science education. Being here allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and fully immerse yourself in nature’s symphony.

Qingxi Town: Located in the southeastern part of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, Qingxi Town borders Hong Kong and Macao and is adjacent to Shenzhen and Huizhou. Covering an area of 143 square kilometers, it boasts a beautiful ecological environment and well-developed urban infrastructure. It has been designated as a "National Comprehensive Experimental Zone for Social Development," a "National Pilot Town for Small Town Construction," and a "National Comprehensive Reform Pilot Town." It has also earned honors such as "National Top 100 Town for Afforestation and Greening," "National Top 10 Towns for Export Earnings by Foreign-Funded Enterprises," and "National Sanitary Town."
