Zhuangyuan Pen Park

Zhuangyuan Pen Park is a park located within the Songshan Lake Industrial Park in Dongguan, situated in the middle of a road. It is a newly built historical and cultural park. Drawing inspiration from the motivational story of the "Zhuangyuan Pen" that encourages students in their academic pursuits, and following the challenging educational journey of Qi Shun as its thematic thread, the park is landscaped according to the terrain and developed into a tourist attraction.

The southeast entrance of the park features a cluster of ancient Lingnan-style buildings of varying heights. Following a winding path to the north leads to the "Gu Yue Pavilion," where legend has it that the top scholar rested during his journey to the imperial capital for the exams. Further along the mountain path lies the highest point of the entire village—the Kuixing Pavilion, symbolizing achieving the status of top scholar and attaining success and fame. From this high vantage point, one can overlook the sprawling lychee orchard below, known as "Zhuangyuan Hong" (Top Scholar Red), where every tree is laden with bright red fruit. Descending the path, as if returning home in glory, visitors pay homage at the "Zhuangyuan Pen" located to the west of the village, standing on this land of scholarly honor. To the west of the Zhuangyuan Pen stands the "Zhuangyuan Stele Corridor," where inscribed stone tablets commemorate the history of the area and the deeds of the top scholar, serving to inspire future generations. The northwest entrance is the "Zhuangyuan Archway," behind which stands a screen wall featuring the design of "magpies perched on plum blossoms," symbolizing the folk saying of magpies bringing good news.

The Zhuangyuan Pen is the pride of the people of Songshan Lake. Centered around the challenging academic journey of Qi Shun and drawing inspiration from the motivational story of the "Zhuangyuan Pen" that encourages students, it constructs the profound historical and cultural essence of Zhuangyuan Pen Park.
