The Xiong Family Yue’nan Ancestral Hall was built in 1781, renovated once in 1931, and covers an area of 200 square meters. The former lodging site of the officers and soldiers of the Sanlong Battalion, First Detachment, Dongjiang Column, is located at the Su Family Ancestral Hall in Diyong Village. The Su Family Ancestral Hall was built in 1713, renovated once in 1983, and covers an area of 400 square meters. Both of these historical sites are brick-and-tile structures.
To establish an anti-Japanese base in the water towns of Dongguan, in September 1944, over 200 officers and soldiers of the Sanlong Battalion, First Detachment, Dongjiang Column, led by Battalion Commander Xie Yangguang and Political Commissar He Qing, advanced into Diyong, Gaobu Town. The headquarters and troops were stationed separately at the Xiong Family Yue’nan Ancestral Hall and the Su Family Ancestral Hall in Diyong. After arriving in Diyong, the troops engaged in several major battles and achieved remarkable successes. These included repelling attacks by the bandit Liu Faru, crushing Japanese “mopping-up” operations, capturing the leader Li Nü and his wife of the puppet army’s “Anti-Red Volunteer Army,” repelling a counterattack by the bandit Li Chao, annihilating the Liu Faru bandit forces entrenched in Gao’bu Village, liberating Gao’bu Village, and repelling a joint “encirclement and suppression” operation by Japanese, puppet, and diehard forces in Jiaoli. The Sanlong Battalion established an anti-Japanese guerrilla base in Diyong, set up a democratic government, and formed organizations such as peasant associations, women’s groups, militia battalions, and children’s corps. On April 24, 1945, the troops withdrew to the mountainous areas.
During the Liberation War period, units of the Third Regiment of the First Detachment of the Dongjiang Column under the Guangdong-Guangxi-Hunan Border Column of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, including the Qinglong Squad and Jiaolong Squad, were stationed at the Xiong Family Yue’nan Ancestral Hall in Diyong and used it as a temporary headquarters.
In January 2004, the Xiong Family Yue’nan Ancestral Hall — the site of the headquarters of the Sanlong Battalion, First Detachment, Dongjiang Column — was designated as a Dongguan Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the Dongguan Municipal People's Government.
