The site of the former communications station of the Third Battalion, Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The site of the former communications station of the Third Battalion, Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces is located in Dawangling Village Group, Dalingshan Village, Dalingshan Town, Dongguan City. It is a traditional earthen-brick house. In October 1941, when the stubborn forces of the Kuomintang attacked the Dalingshan Anti-Japanese Base Area, the main force of the Third Battalion, Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces, shifted to operations beyond enemy lines, while smaller units and anti-Japanese self-defense teams remained in Dalingshan to continue the fight inland. To maintain contact between the various units as well as between the military and local Communist Party organizations, and under the challenging conditions of lacking modern transportation and communication tools, this location was used as a front—a small shop—to secretly set up a communications station and carry out liaison work covertly. This historic site underwent renovation in 2005. It faces southeast and is situated northwest, measuring 9.50 meters in length and 7.49 meters in width, with a courtyard-style layout and a traditional hip-and-gable roof supported by purlins, covering an area of approximately 71 square meters. This site holds significant value for the study of the history of Guangdong’s anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. As part of the remains of the Dalingshan Anti-Japanese Base Area, the former communications station site was designated in May 2006 by the State Council as part of the sixth group of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units. In April 2008, it was named a Dongguan Patriotic Education Base by the Dongguan Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee.

Dalingshan Village: Located southwest of Dalingshan Town, Dalingshan Village lies 3 kilometers from the town center and covers a total area of 7 square kilometers. It administers four natural villages—Xiayouguling, Shangyouguling, Wengyao, and Dawangling—as well as seven villager groups, with a total population of 19,860, including 2,363 registered residents. In 2010, the village achieved a combined industrial and agricultural output value of 1,698,490,000 yuan, with a combined disposable income of 5.22 million yuan at the village and group levels, and an average per capita income of 12,913 yuan among villagers.
