The Former Site of the Zhongshan Academy of the Third Detachment of the Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a patriotic education base.

The Former Site of the Dajia Tuanjie Newspaper Office of the Third Detachment of the Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces is located in Dawangling Village Group, Dalingshan Village, Dalingshan Town, Dongguan City. It is a modern-era adobe house. In January 1941, the Third Detachment of the Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces appointed Comrade Du Jinnan to establish the Dajia Tuanjie (Great Unity) Newspaper here. This was the first anti-Japanese newspaper in the enemy-occupied areas of Guangdong during the War of Resistance. The newspaper was printed using a mimeograph machine, published weekly, and ran for a total of 20 issues. It mainly focused on promoting anti-Japanese guerrilla activities, reporting domestic and international news, as well as the movements of Japanese puppet troops. In September 1941, it merged with the Xin Baixing (New Common People) Newspaper, which was founded by the Fifth Detachment at the Yangtai Mountain Anti-Japanese Base in Bao’an. This merger became the predecessor of the Dongjiang Column’s official newspaper, the Qianjin Bao (Forward Newspaper). The site underwent renovation in 2005. It faces southeast and is arranged in a traditional three-bay, two-corridor courtyard layout. It measures 9.11 meters in length and 10.71 meters in width, featuring a flush-gable roof structure with a floor area of approximately 98 square meters. The site holds significant value for the study of the history of the Guangdong people’s anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. It was designated as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 2006.

Dalingshan Village: Located southwest of Dalingshan Town, Dalingshan Village is 3 kilometers from the town center, covering a total area of 7 square kilometers. It administers four natural villages — Xiayouguling, Shangyouguling, Wengyao, and Dawangling — and seven villager groups, with a total population of 19,860, including 2,363 registered residents. In 2010, the village achieved a total industrial and agricultural output value of 1,698,490,000 yuan, with a combined disposable income of 5.22 million yuan at the village and group levels, and an average per capita income of 12,913 yuan for villagers.
