The Xie Ancestral Hall of Nanshe is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Xie Ancestral Hall of Nanshe is located in Nanshe Village, Chashan Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, opposite the Hundred-Year Archway. It was built in the 15th year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1520), underwent renovations during the Qing Dynasty, and was refurbished in 1995. Facing north and situated southward, the hall follows a courtyard-style layout with three bays, two courtyards, two corridors, and one central courtyard. It has a total width of 9.6 meters, a total depth of 12.7 meters, and covers an area of approximately 122 square meters. Constructed with a brick, wood, and stone structure, it features gray brick walls, red sandstone pillars, door frames, and base stones, as well as bluestone column bases, steps, and pedestals. It has a flush-gable roof, a hybrid beam frame combining raised beams and through-tenon construction, gable-and-hip roof ridges, clay plastered roof ridges, and gray barrel tiles. The front gate bears a plaque inscribed “Xie Family Ancestral Hall,” and there is a screen inside the entrance. The rear hall displays a wooden plaque reading “Jushun Hall.” The ancestral altar in the rear hall enshrines plaques of generations of ancestors from the Chenliu Hall of the Xie family, including those from the ninth generation in the Ming Dynasty up to the twenty-third generation in the Republican era. This ancestral hall is the earliest one built in the Ming Dynasty within Nanshe Village and holds significant value for the study of ancestral halls in the Lingnan region. It was designated as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 2006.

Nanshe Village: Nanshe Village is located southeast of Chashan Town, approximately 18 kilometers from downtown Dongguan. It enjoys convenient transportation, covers an area of 4.13 square kilometers, governs seven villager groups, and has a registered population of 3,690 people and a migrant population of about 10,000. In 2016, the total operating income of both village and group levels in Nanshe Village reached 33.62 million yuan, with a net income of 18.08 million yuan, reflecting steady growth in the collective economy.
