Nanshe Guan Yu Temple is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Nanshe Guan Yu Temple, also known as Emperor Wu Temple, is located on the left side of the office of Dongfang Village Group in Nanshe Village, Chashan Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It was built in the 36th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1697) and was renovated in 2002. The temple faces east and has a courtyard-style layout consisting of three bays, two courtyards, one incense pavilion, and one central courtyard. It has a total width of 18 meters, a depth of 20 meters, and covers an area of approximately 360 square meters. The structure is made of brick, wood, and stone, with grey brick walls and a red sandstone base. It features a flush-gable roof, a mixed beam-frame structure of raised beams and through-tenons, hipped gable walls, a gable and hip ridge decorated with plaster sculptures, barrel tiles coated in grey, green glazed tile end caps, and drip tiles trimmed at the edges. On both sides of the entrance gate are wing rooms with a plaque reading “Emperor Wu Temple” hanging above, and a screen inside the entrance. An independent incense pavilion stands in the central courtyard. The main hall houses a plaque inscribed with “Heaven and Earth’s Righteous Qi” and enshrines the statue of Guan Yu. The building boasts exquisite murals, plaster carvings, ceramic carvings, and stone carvings, making it of significant value for the study of Lingnan architecture from the Qing Dynasty. It was designated as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 2006.

Nanshe Village: Nanshe Village is located southeast of Chashan Town, approximately 18 kilometers from downtown Dongguan. It enjoys convenient transportation, covers an area of 4.13 square kilometers, and includes seven village groups. It has a registered population of 3,690 and a migrant population of about 10,000. In 2016, the total operating income of the village and group levels reached 33.62 million yuan, with a net income of 18.08 million yuan, indicating steady growth of the collective economy.
